Description: Shows the use of isotopes as tracers to identify the transformation or end products in complex chemical processes. Depicts their use in determining the rate of self-diffusion of copper, vapor pressure of silver, the exchange of chloride ions for radioactive chloride, and the exchange of ions in the axone of a squid. Portrays the use of carbon 14 in determining the position of the carbon in the C=O of a ketone as it is hydrolyzed to the resulting acid. Shows other uses of C-14 in determining the part played by various chemicals in body reactions.
