Quebec In Silence

Presents footage of rural areas in Quebec, covering city streets, church services and old age homes, which is interspersed with the sclemn, sparse paintings by Jean-Paul Lemieux that depicts similar scenes and the lean, angular forms that inhabit them. Captures the emptiness and isolation of rural winters, the overwhelming significance of the church in peoples' lives and the blank-faced groups of individuals in towns and church gatherings.
