Prevent Blindness PSA - 1960's National Society For The Prevention of Blindness

Genre: public service announcement

Complete Record: Woman: My eyes were failing me and I had to have the glasses changed frequently. Man: They sent me for an eye exam after the other physical part of the examination was over and they discovered I had glaucoma. Woman: But that didn't bother me then until I went home and looked it up in the medical book. [laughs] And I didn't like... I didn't like what I read. Woman 2: Well, I was pretty scared about it because I knew that it would cause blindness eventually or at least I thought it would. Man 2: I was told to go see an ophthalmologist - he put me on eyedrops three times a day. Man 3: The alternative would be blindness and a drop a day is not too much to ask to see the sunshine. [voice-over] These people know that half of all blindness is preventable. Do you?
