Prairie Fire

Directed by John Hanson and Rob Nilsson

A history of the Non-Partisan League, a grassroots farmers' organization founded in 1915 on the North Dakota plains that sought to combat abuses by the Eastern business trusts. Using period footage and stills, and narrated by a surviving league member, ninety-four-year-old Henry Martinson -- homesteader, poet, and lifelong socialist -- the film tells the story of a time in America's history when farmers held the reins of power
