Portrait Of A Great Painter - Johan Barthold Jongkind

Features the work of Johan Barthold Jongkind, the predecessor of the French impressionists and an innovator not only in the use of light and color but also because he was so skillful in combining Latin clarity with a northern sense of atmosphere. Shows Jongkind's work placed side by side with the same landscapes as they appear today to demonstrate the mastery of the techniques of etching and painting in watercolor and oils.
