PORT OF SEVEN SEAS.

In Marseille, a young woman is in love with a young sailor, Marius, who is away at sea for three years. When Marius finds out he must go to sea, he tells her that it would break his heart to tell her in person. Madelon finds out that she is pregnant, but Panisse asks her to get an abortion to spare her the shame of a child born out of wedlock. A year later Marius unexpectedly returns from sea to buy equipment for his ship and realizes that he is the father.
