Description: One of a series of educational films produced by Kodak as part of their Eastman Classroom Film series, this short discusses the planting and care of trees. It likely would have been accompanied by a script read aloud by a teacher or student. At :46 trees in a residential area are shown being sprayed with insecticide. At 1:17 a gas powered pump is used to spray trees. At 1:43, students in a classroom are shown a film about how to identify insects including caterpillars. At 3;14 the projector is put away. At 3:54 a display of various insects is shown as the teacher continues the lecture. At 5:13 the class takes a field trip to see trees and some of the damage done to them by insects. At 5:38 a child climbs a tree and retrieves a moth caterpillar. At 6:50 worms are shown destroying a leaf on a tree. At 7:50 a tree is planted. At 8;22, a grafted tree is selected from the nursery and planted at 10:19. At 13:43 the tree is shown in the Spring. At 14:29 a group of former students hold a class reunion with their teacher in a grove of trees planted 37 years earlier.
