PCBs are toxic and not biodegradable. Over 90% of all toxic wastes are dumped unsafely. In Love Canal, NY the Hooker Company knew toxic chemicals were leaching out of drums they had buried. A high incidence of birth defects are blamed on these chemicals and no solution has been found to break down their biodegradable structure.
