Description: Provides a visual history of the Tlingit people of the Yukon through the biography of Tlingit photographer George Johnston. Uses his photographs to chronicle the history, culture and activities of the Tlingit people. Addresses the changes over time of the Yukon Tlingit and the effects of development and settlement in their territory. Specifically examines the building of a highway to connect Alaska and British Columbia and the arrival of soldiers to build it and their effects on the life of the Tlingit. Interviews with relatives and friends of George Johnston contribute to his biography and the history of the Tlingit.
