Complete Record: Known n the street as “angel dust,” “Sherman,” “crystal” phencyclidine and other related substance have become the fastest growing drugs in use among youth. This film presents information on PCP and alerts teenagers and adults to the unique dangers of the drug. Short interviews with teenagers and then a young man preparing PCP cigarettes give information and raiser questions about the drug. The development of PCP as an anesthetic and its continued use on large animals is described. The ease of illegal manufacture in home laboratories and the high profits in doing so are examined. A policeman shows an exploded home laboratory and describes the dangers. The experience and effect of the drug are discussed by users an a doctor. The potential for violence is dramatically illustrated when two police officers confront a woman having a psychotic reaction from PCP. the long term effects that PCP may have on a person are related by a psychiatrist , and a former user. the increasing number of PCP related deaths, including a high incident of drowning, are revealed in a scene at a morgue and an interview with a county coroner. The film ends with a discussion of what can be done about the PCP problem.
