Depicts Columbus' boyhood home, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, and the convent of La Rabida where Columbus lived while trying to interest Ferdinand and Isabella in his plans. Shows Palos, from where his ships sailed; San Salvador, where he landed; and the Cathedral of Ciudad Trujillo, where he is buried. Translated portions of old documents such as the King's proclamation to provide Columbus with ships, the record of rights accorded to Columbus' family, and the explorer's letter to his son.
