Paris - The Belly And The Heart

Shows how the view of Paris as the romantic capital of the world is disappearing as progress comes to the city. Explains that until recently no building over 80 feet was allowed in the city but now towers over 600 feet tall are permitted. Points out that the suburbs are growing while the population of the city is dwindling so that provision must be made for the flow of traffic. Depicts the river banks in Paris which are now invaded by expressways and a new high-speed subway system.
