Presents real life interactions which occurred over a span of several months in the home of a middle class California family of seven. Concentrates on the problems between the parents and their teenage sons to illustrate the changing values of today's youth and the difficult gap between the generations which result. Includes intimate soul-searching conversations between Don and Mae in which they strive to redefine their roles as parents, face up to their shortcomings, and try to reestablish their relationship with each other.
