here's a happy thought you have a good friend one you may have never met but you've seen him and he's helped you it's the policeman the policeman wears a blue uniform that's always neat and clean on his chest is a bright shiny badge sometimes there's another badge on his cap then the policeman always carries a silver whistle and it sounds like this [Music] policemen ride in a police car it's blue and white and has a big badge painted on the door there's a flashing light on top and a very loud siren [Music] inside the car the policeman has a radio here's what it sounds like car 22 standby I have a report of a stolen bicycle at 4260 Ridgewood investigate and report back to headquarters 10-4 so policemen ride but not always in a car sometimes the policeman will ride a motorcycle it has all the things a police car does and he'll wear his safety helmet because all policemen are interested in safety some policemen ride and others walk through a quiet park or along a busy Street there are times when the streets are crowded with traffic lots of cars lots of trucks and who goes to the corner to help direct that heavy traffic the policeman he tells the people when to stop he tells the people when to go [Music] and the people follow the policeman's directions because he's our helpful friend when I need help wherever I go if I walk or if I rock a friendly policeman is close by he's always on my side he may ride in a police car or a motorcycle King [Music] [Music] the policeman is my friend if I don't know just where I am or if my dog is lost I'll ask a policeman for his help when a street is to be crossed I will respect the bad she was and his uniform of blue and who can tell in a matter of time I might be a policeman too accidents traffic jams whatever fix I mean I always know that wherever I go the policeman is my friend laughs when traffic's very slow to move is where so he will blow and cars upon memory way well then begin to go a speeding car goes flashing by a very close behind a policeman with his ticket book The Man must pay a fire accidents traffic jams whatever fix I mean I always know that wherever I go the policeman is my friend thank you foreign [Music] I always know that wherever I go the policeman is my friend the icy Rain drums on my roof but tonight I'm snugly warm outside someone's protecting me my friend in uniform when work is over home he'll go and dress just like my dad all day he helps the community and put sins traffic jams whatever fix I mean I always know that wherever I go the policeman is my friend thank you when I need help wherever I go if I won't go if I ride a friendly policeman is close by he's always on my side he may ride in a police car or a motorcycle King with radio and the flashing light and a loud wailing siren acceptance traffic jams whatever fix time in I always know that wherever I go the policeman is my friend thank you thank you foreign
