Description: Documents the ways in which families, teachers, and institutions are caring for the mentally retarded in Canada and England and discusses the problems inherent in each of these methods. Visits several families who are raising a retarded child at home. Examines the scientific study of how the backward learn at Queen Mary's Hospital at Carshalton outside of London; results of their study support the thesis that retarded children develop better in a family type atmosphere.
