On the River Front of New Orleans (silent)

Description: Members of the Rachel Sims Memorial Mission are shown working with impoverished children in New Orleans, featuring images of children playing in a school yard and receiving religious teaching. Notable sequence of missionaries visiting what is likely the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans, a historically Black neighborhood along the Mississippi River.

This reel is probably the first of two. In this reel, Black children are pictured on city streets and white children are pictured at the Mission receiving services.
