[Music] flora drummond the suffragette leader seen in the center gets ready for a parade the cause is votes for women male assistance is called on where needed the campaign had been given a militant aspect by mrs emeline pankhurst as early as 1906 [Music] so so [Music] so the destruction of this london church was attributed to the militant suffragettes and here are the ruins of yarmouth pierre [Music] the suffragettes also created disturbances at busy times here are some of them being arrested outside buckingham palace among them sylvia pankhurst so [Music] so no one on their way to the derby in 1913 realized that they were going to witness a tragic incident the most clearly remembered of all those associated with the suffragette movement [Music] the king and queen arrive [Music] watch the right hand side of the screen as the horse's past tetanum corner a woman named emily davison rushes out and brings down the king's horse anime the jockey is badly injured she herself dies without regaining consciousness [Music] this is her memorial procession in london thousand george's church bloom's brave so [Music] so so [Music] and here at maupith in northumberland is her funeral so [Music] more sinister was the growing evidence that the continental gangster had at last made his way to britain the police hold back a crowd of sensation seekers the place is near the milan road stepmay two desperados have been traced to number 100 sydney street [Music] they have fired at the police sent to arrest them and the police since early morning have been clearing the neighborhood of its inhabitants [Music] so [Music] the leading lights of scotland yard are there massive pipes and all a detachment of scots guards has been called in that is not mr winston churchill sitting beside the chimney he is in the background looking over the parapet [Music] the trapped men return a lively fire the authorities have sent for the horse artillery who are with their guns to blow the place to pieces [Music] after nearly seven hours the unexpected comes to the rescue smoke shows that the house has caught fire so [Music] several fire brigades are called but the men are not taken alive their child bodies are found later in the debrief they were never identified and to this day there is disagreement as to who they really were [Music] you
