Northern oasis

Description: A silent film about life in the North-Western Victorian country town of Boort during the 1940s. Produced by and for the people of Boort and district. The Loddon Weir is shown, as are: local livestock sales, dairy, poultry, pork and citrus farming, school children at the small local school and Australia Day celebrations with athletics, a fashion parade, tennis, lawn bowls and decorative boat river regatta. The film ends with the “Water - the life-blood of the North. The future progress and prosperity of this Northern-Oasis depend upon its assured supply.”
