[Narrator] Perhaps there is still the echo of baseball in Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, but for ski enthusiasts the bats are on ice now. Snow machines make traveling room for the boards. Tons of crushed ice to coat the 165-foot jump with spring-type snow. [energetic music] Daring skiers from around the world compete on the big course, which contains over 65,000 pounds of steel scaffolding. We're out in right field but the way they come down you'd think they were sliding all the way to home plate. [music continues] 20 class A contenders including six members of the United States Olympic team try the synthetic snow. [music continues] Batter up, beg pardon, skier down. One man's ballpark is another man's ski arena, for that my friends is the way the snowball bounces. [music end with a flourish]
