Tells of a young government biologist who travels to the Arctic to gather information about wolves. Shows how he finds them to be tender, courageous animals who live in total harmony with their environment. From the book Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat.
Canadian biologist Tyler (Charles Martin Smith) is assigned by the government to study why the area's caribou population is declining, believed to be due to wolf-pack attacks. A traveling Inuit named Ootek (Zachary Ittimangnaq) transports him and his gear off the ice and builds a shelter for him. He and the wolves begin social exchanges, even urine-marking their territories, producing trust and respect.
