Presents Dr William C Dement of Stanford University who describes the symptoms and diagnosis of narcolepsy, a disease of deep sleep. Shows narcoleptic patients having sleep attacks, cataleptic attacks and hypnogogic hallucinations. Describes Dr Dement's research which has provided a definitive method of diagnosing narcolepsy using sleep recordings.
