animals. The first reel shows scenes of the native haunts of the slime molds, and several types of fruiting bodies, the breaking
open of a spore, the release of a colorless, flagellated swarm cell, which swims around at first, but later loses its flagella and be-
comes amoeboid. In the second reel, the large mass of protoplasm moves about in search of food. This movement by reversible streaming of the protoplasmic 'network' as well as the "peristaltic' wave in the advancing edge, where digestion takes place,
is . . . shown."
