My War Years: Arnold Schoenberg

Uses commentary by Arnold Schoenberg and his contemporaries, as well as excerpts of his music, to present Schoenberg's life from the turn of the century through 1920. Invokes the spirit of the times by dramatizing the commentary and creating "home movies" in order to illustrate moments in Schoenberg's life. Focuses on the effect his personal life had on his artistic one, both in music and painting, and vice versa. Presents stagings of several of Schoenberg's musical works, and includes many of his paintings.
