Using an animated puppet-scientist as a ‘devil’s’ advocate in debating the theory of spontaneous generation, the film demonstrates how it is possible to reach false conclusions by an insufficiently thorough application of the scientific method. Pasteur’s experiments are re-created, proving that mold in broth grows from microorganisms that enter the broth from the air. In collaboration with Helen J. Challand.
