The Moody family had strong ties to Virginia since the family moved from Virginia to Texas, and Moody Northen’s father, William Lewis Moody Jr., spent several years at a school in Virginia. She also discusses how her father, William Lewis Moody Jr., helped change the hotel after purchasing it. Mary Moody Northen ran the Moody Foundation after her father’s passing, and she established her own Mary Moody Northen Endowment in 1964.
