Description: Features a candid portrait of Mother Charleszetta Waddles, Detroit's one-woman crusade against hunger and poverty. She feeds 250 persons a day in her kitchen, white and Negro. She runs an aftercare center for men from Northville State Hospital, and has opened a school with volunteer instructors to teach simple trades to the unskilled. She opened a storefront church in 1957 which became a soup kitchen, an employment agency and a charity store.
