Modern Obstetrics: Normal Delivery

A woman sits down on a bed and gets covered with a sheet. A doctor feels the stomach and talks to the woman.

Patient is in first week of labor. Blood pressure and pulse rate or noted every hour. She is observed at every hour.

Doctor feels the uterus area of the woman.
Vaginal examination begins the doctors put on gloves and clean the vagina than examine it

Drugs shot into stomach.

Baby’s head begins to pop out of the cervix. Baby is born and cord is cut.
Placenta is then pulled out of woman's vagina.

Cervix is now being inspected. Woman lies in bed for the 1st hour after birth.
Doctor looks a woman's belly button.

Local anesthesia is given to the woman through her vagina.


Doctor cuts part of vagina to let baby out easier.
