The American artist and her husband, Thomas Sargent Perry, were friends of the Impressionist master and spent ten summers in Giverny between 1889-1909. The film also includes works by Whistler, Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Berthe Morisot and Pissarro along with paintings by Perry and her American friends at Giverny: Theodore Robinson, John Breck, Theodore Butler and Frederick Frieseke. Special emphasis is placed on Monet's famous series: haystacks, poplars, the Rouen Cathedral, followed by mornings on the Seine, the Japanese bridge and the water lilies.
