Description: Still photographs and prints depict various events in the life of Lincoln, his early life and term of office as president, the Civil War, and other important persons of his time., Through use of still photographs and drawings of the period depicts the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. Begins in 1860 when he was still little known to the nation as a whole. Follows him as he expresses his stand on the Union and slavery and is elected to the presidency. Reviews the early stages of the war characterized by Northern defeats and Lincoln's search for a general to match Lee. The turning of the tide in the war, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the surrender at Appomattox are fully described. Concludes with the shooting of Lincoln by Booth.
