Description: Episode of Series “Is this your career series”. The medical technologist aids the pathologist, the biochemist, the bacteriologist and other medical practitioners in diagnosing disease in patients. The technologist may specialize in one of these fields in a large hospital or in smaller hospitals his work may be general. Study and training differ from state to state but work is generally obtained in a hospital first, and part-time study at a technical college toward a certificate or diploma is then taken. Advanced work and training may then be taken later.
