Series: Tiffany Color Classic
Year Published: 1924
Creator: Pathe Exchange Inc.
Description: Based on the famous poem by John Greenleaf Whittier, produced by Tiffany-Stahl productions as part of their "Tiffany Color Classic" series. It was originally released theatrically on 35mm in 1928, however in 1933/1934 a 16mm version was made available to rent or purchase through the Kodak Kodascope Libraries. Available for the public to watch again for the first time in ~90 years! The film covers a classic love story of "what could have been", alas fate has its own ways. *Please Contact Regarding Usage* Quite extensively cleaned up the film and color corrected it, as the original presentation was less than ideal. Technically, this film was not printed in Technicolor for the 16mm film release- rather, it was a similar competing two-color process known as DunningColor. It had its downsides, but when it was released on 16mm (September 1933) it was one of only a couple of color options. Played at 18 FPS. Uncorrected version here - https://youtu.be/GmE5eU0tkIE Added closed caption track of the inter-titles so international viewers could have auto-translation; as well as so Youtube's systems understand the video better. Silent, Soundtrack Compiled by me thru songs from LoC Jukebox- The West, a nest, and you - Billy Hill Just a Girl that Men Forget - The Troubadors Mississippi Ripples - Earl & Mary Hanley When Shall We Meet Again - Richard Whiting What'll I Do - Irving Berlin Film Credits: Maud Muller - Priscilla Bonner The Judge - William Dillon The Wife - Eleanor Van Der Veer The Husband - Allen Sears
