Master Teacher: A Portrait of Walter Robert

A sensitive close-up of Walter Robert, Indiana University's renowned pianist, scholar, and teacher. Presents Robert conducting master classes and critiques, and in candid discussion of his teaching philosophy. His celebrated musicianship and gentleness of spirit are made evident throughout and are emphasized by fellow faculty members, including master violinist Joseph Gingold, and Charles Webb, former student of Robert and present dean of the music school. Robert's remarkably broad interests and scholarship are also examined. Having retired from the music faculty, he pursued a Master's degree in classical Greek studies.
