Description: An animated version of Edgar Allan Poe's short story. It tells of Prince Prospero who, determined to keep the plague that is ravaging the countryside away, barricades himself and his court in his castle. Though his subjects are dying, he gives a ball and there he meets a beautiful woman. Following her through the castle, he finally catches up with her and finds her to be the Red Death that he was so anxious to avoid. Awards: Yugoslav Film Festival, Belgrade; American Film Festival, New York.
