Mary Bignal Rand

Description: Almost unknown in 1957, Mary Bignal, now Mrs. Rand, gained renown having won every international athletic track events. She was chosen Sportswoman of the Year in 1959, and is one of the finest all round athletes Britain has known. She manages to combine a fulltime job with the rigorous training of a champion and the everyday chores of a housewife.
