Description: A young American engineer and his wife try to give their guest from Greece an accurate picture of American life. Shows how the market system provides for the needs and wants of the American people and notes the abundance of material wealth and leisure and the high proportion of middle class people. Notes the relative unimportance of land ownership, as contrasted with the importance of control of capital, which tends to move about from generation to generation. The emphasis on the freedom of economic choice is shown, with its influences both on the mobility of the population and on the allocation and use of resources.
