Description: For ten weeks during the summer of 1988, director Spike Lee took his cast and crew to Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant section to shoot Do the right thing. Combining interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of Lee at work with his stars Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee and Giancarlo Esposito, this documentary records the creation of the soon to be controversial film made in the wake of the Howard Beach incident. Bourne's film charts the transformation of a troubled inner-city neighborhood into a Hollywood movie set and its attendant complications: disruptions of the area's residents, security, and control of the set.
