A documentary which explores the relationship between the worlds of fantasy and reality through an interview with a young sculptor who lives in a commune in the Western United States. Robert Gilbert, a junk sculptor, talks about his work and philosophy as he searches the scrap heaps of the desert for his materials. His creations range from playful, magical fantasies to angry forms expressing social protest.
