Presents, in the English translation of Loin de Paris, the provinces in which four-fifths of the French population live. Depicts the various styles of life indigenous to the farms and small towns of France. Examines how change has vastly altered provincial areas like the Cote d'Azur while others, such as Brittany, remain unchanged.
