Description: Episode of Series “Earth and it’s peoples”. This film describes New York City; population 9,000,000 (1949). Aerial views of the city and harbour, its office buildings etc show briefly its general appearance. A gateway to the United States from the East, it is a terminus for shipping, a railroad centre and has three airports. Film also includes glimpses of Park Avenue, Harlem, Chinatown, the housing projects, subways, bridges, tunnels, the food markets, restaurants, the banks on Wall Street, the garment industry and departmental stores, Central Park, Coney Island and Times Square.
