Description: A documentary account of the activities of President Lincoln and his assassin, John Wilkes Booth, on April 14, 1865, begins with a reenactment of the closing days of the Civil War at National Battlefield Park, Manassas, Virginia. Details of the South's surrender are related by scenes filmed at the Appomatox home of Wilmer McClean. Recounts Lincoln's day from the time he arises to his visit to Ford's theater, and retraces the steps of Booth during the day as he plots and carries through the assassination. A cast of more than 450 people on location at 13 different sites. Senator Everett Dirksen as the voice of Lincoln and original photographs by Matthew Brady.
