[Music] There's no picture. You can't see. Just listen closely and think. You're in the same spot as the police dispatcher. A robbery in progress, you can't see it. A woman who's just been assaulted, you can't reach her. Or officers converging on a sniper attack. They all depend on the dispatcher for help and the dispatcher depends on his ears. The complaint taking dispatching function is the vital communication link between the public and the police, between patrol units, between people who need help and people who will help. The lifeline of every law enforcement department. Each department is unique. The motion picture you are about to see shows one type of operation, not as a textbook ideal, but an example of what is considered to be reality on the lifeline.
