Life in the Grasslands (Second Edition)

Presents an overview of the ecosystem of the North American prairie, a vast area of rolling hills and plains which once covered millions of square miles and exists today in areas designated as national parks. Illustrates the life cycle of the plants and animals that comprise the grasslands by showing plant-eating animals, their predators, weather cycles, and grassland fires. Shows various wildlife in their grassland habitat, explaining that while the vast amount of animal life is gone the variety still exists.
