Description: Episode number 11 of Series “The American Scene”. An account of the scope and methods of operation of the Library of Congress at Washington. Science, painting, music, literature and history are shown as some of the interests of the Institution. The library’s contents include valuable historical documents, newsreel records of outstanding events and personalities, Braille and talking books (on disc) for the blind, in addition to much material of general public interest. Includes a concert performance of music from manuscript collection and library staff in the field recording little known folk musicians.
