In Singapore at a rubber plantation, a human tragedy plays out in which the wife of one of the British managers (Bette Davis) murders her lover, then contrives to conceal a letter that would have incriminated her. She is then only pursued by the man's native wife and her own conscience. Shots of trees producing latex for rubber.
