Learjet is an American aerospace manufacturer of business jets for military and civilian use. The 35/36 models featured in this film were FAA certified in 1974. The company was founded in the 1950’s by William Powell Lear and became Gates Learjet Corporation in 1969. It later became a subsidiary of Canadian Bombardier Aerospace in 1990. The end of the Learjet production line was announced in February 2021.

one-fourth of the world's corporate jet aircraft and every day they are flying more hours covering more miles than any other business jet they are the true workhorses of the fleet [Music] what is the key to this position of leadership it is the learjet's unmatched economy performance ratio the learjet can carry bigger loads faster and farther at less cost per mile than any other business jet and most turbo crops yet its thrust to weight ratio is the highest of any business jet providing shorter takeoffs quicker climbs to altitude better single engine performance and a greater margin of safety its two ge cj 610-6 engines supplying 2950 pounds of thrust each provide climb performance exceeding 6 000 feet per minute at takeoff gross weight minimizing passenger time and rough air it cruises at mach .81 534 miles per hour at 41 000 feet way up in the sunshine of learjet country above the weather where it's smooth comfortable and economical and for additional range the learjet has the performance reserved to fly even higher up to 45 000 feet its maximum certified altitude [Music] this unexcelled learjet performance is available in three current models each with its own unique capability the 24d is the most economical version with outstanding performance his 13 500 pound takeoff gross weight gives us the highest thrust to weight ratio of any business jet providing exceptional short field capability it carries six passengers in luxurious comfort for a direct operating cost of only 37 cents per mile and its acquisition cost is the lowest of any business aircraft providing true jet performance [Music] the 25b is a combination of traditional learjet performance and large cabin comfort his fuel capacity permits flights of 1725 miles with eight passengers plus baggage at a direct operating cost of only 38 cents per mile yet its acquisition cost is only slightly above the 24 d the 25c combines learjet performance with long range capability it will carry four passengers in stretched out comfort and has a range of more than 2 300 miles yet its direct operating cost is as little as 38 cents per mile [Music] [Applause] the 24d the 25b [Music] the 25c three learjets each with their own unique capabilities to satisfy different customer requirements and learjet performance in all three versions contributes unique versatility for many applications high speed and low operating costs have made the learjet the leading charter aircraft around the world because it pays its way passengers like the aircraft because it's comfortable and fast [Music] charter operators like it because they can profitably charge rates up to 50 percent less than competitive jet aircraft [Music] and many corporations not only reduce their operating costs but make a profit by per-trip leasing to neighboring firms [Music] the learjet's unmatched reliability and economy of operation make it an ideal vehicle for the transportation of male and high priority freight the 24 carries up to 3 000 pounds in its 197 cubic foot cargo configuration meeting schedules impossible to perform with turbo crops at direct operating costs as low as or lower than any other business jet the 25b modified with a rear cargo hatch and an emergency exit over the co-pilot seat has a capacity of 300 cubic feet and carries up to two tons yet in less than 40 minutes it can be converted back
