Description: This is Lesson 52 in Encyclopaedia Britannica's 'Je Parle Français' French language instruction series of 1961. Here, Margot writes a letter in which she describes Mont Saint-Michel, while sitting in a café. In the background, lunch is being prepared, while interested local citizens and tourists investigate and walk into the set. The film includes wonderful aerial, establishment, and detail shots of Mont Saint-Michel. In one scene, Margot and her uncle walk the causeway with Mont Saint-Michel in the backgound, in a tracking shot made from a Citroën 2CV "deux-chevaux," pushed by three grips. The final shot, of wind-blown wheat with Mont Saint-Michel in the background, is among the most enchanting in the series.
