Designed to help students get to know Laurie, a disabled person, to help them reflect on the different, and not-so-different life styles of the handicapped; to ask questions, and to meet, accept, and befriend new handicapped students who may be coming into their own classrooms. Despite her blindness, Laurie had a determination to live independently. She practices with a cane to negotiate obstacles on the street, and uses a special device to read books that haven’t been put into Braille.
