Description: A look at the Scandinavians of ten centuries ago, the Vikings, and their descendants. While technology has mechanized fishing and extinction has made whaling an economic risk, the culture and way of life have changed very little. Explains that the Scandinavians of ten centuries ago were pirates and plunderers and points out that today their descendents are still masters of the sea, harvesting a rich crop of fish from their ancient enemy and only provider.
