Segment 2 (sound): Attorney General Thomas Lynch kicks off election campaign; interviewed by KNTV and asked whether balance between dignity of the individual and well-being and safety of community is being achieved in California; he says people should be looking very carefully at the courts. Segment 3 (sound): San Jose Mayor Joseph Pace comments on last night's bond election, says he was feeling bad last night when the results came in, but feels better this morning. Reel 2: Segment 1 (sound): Sister Mary Luke of the Sisters of Loretto is asked if she would defend nuns who might participate in anti-Vietnam War demonstrations; she says any sister must balance the freedom to act on her conscience with her representation of the church. Segment 2 (silent): An older couple is seen looking out of the second story window of their home in Monterey, with American flags flying from the house as a distress signal, and the front door boarded up. Sebastiano and Mary Patania are being forced out of their home near Fisherman's Wharf to make way for development. Footage of them being evicted and forcibly removed from the home on stretchers.
