Silent shots of crowd outside building followed by sound interview with Dr. Carlton Goodlett who offers thoughts on the unemployment problem, calling on federal government to do something for middle age people who are losing jobs and being displaced by automation. He also comments that the crowd at the Deadwyler inquest in Los Angeles had the right to be there and their decorum was exemplary. More shots of the stage and crowd at the events, and Los Angeles Mayor Sam Yorty speaking at podium. Segment 3 (sound): Sam Yorty is asked if he can provide any specific examples of his charges that the current administration is controlled by "mercenaries" and "left wingers." Yorty to camera says there are a lot of people outside the government pulling the strings; mercenaries who earn a lot of money and funnel campaign funds into the well-oiled machine. He mentions several names associated with Southern California savings & loans companies who he claims have no principles at all but wield influence from outside the government. Reel 2: Segment 1 (silent): Conference room with 7 men on stage giving talks. Representatives from Bay Area law enforcement agencies in the County Welfare building auditorium to attempt to define community relations and "put it to practical use in dealing with minority groups." Sheriff Charles Prelsnick welcomed the group; keynote speaker was San Francisco lieutenant Dante Andreotti. This was followed by panel discussion. Segment 2 (silent): Santa Clara County Association of Elementary School Administrators "Golden Apple" awards ceremony. KNTV's program director Charles Hosfeldt received award for KNTV's programming on education and service to the field; Dr. Henry Gunn, former administrator in Palo Alto school district, received standing ovation.
